Wendy's is offering a new Ghost Pepper Ranch Chicken Sandwich, a new version of the Ghost Pepper Fries, and the Strawberry Frosty starting today.
Ghost peppers can reach one million Scoville Heat Units (SHUs). On the Scoville scale, a standard jalapeño pepper typically ranges from 2,500 to 8,000.
Wendy's created these spicy dishes to suit client demand for greater spice and flavor. John Li, Wendy's Vice President of Culinary Innovation,
said a well-designed ghost pepper meal yields powerful spiciness and "the fruitiness of a ghost pepper that you don't get with a lot of different peppers."
