Walmart Is Closing Some Locations For These Reasons

Walmart, which has over 10,500 stores worldwide, including at least one in 

each U.S. state, said that two stores, including one Supercenter, will close soon and others will close for various reasons.

The firm announced the permanent closure of a 2008-opened Supercenter in Southwest Louisville, Ky., and another in Cincinnati due to underperformance.

The company told Louisville local news station WHAS11 and The Cincinnati Enquirer that they "are grateful to the customers who have given us the 

privilege of serving them" at both locations and that "we look forward to serving them at our other stores in the surrounding communities 

Elsewhere Walmart stores are also affected. Local sources say a 1.2 million-square-foot distribution center fire in Indianapolis, Ind., required 

roughly 200 firemen and caused surrounding facilities to evacuate on March 16. Inside, 1,000 Walmart workers were found.

Another Walmart store is shuttered after a roof fire burned a 40-foot hole and caused so much smoke that much of the goods is unsalvageable.
