McDonald's Is Closing All Locations for a Day in This Country

The Golden Arches of McDonald's may be synonymous with Americana,

but on Monday, September 19, the fast-food behemoth will pay homage to Her Majesty The Queen.

According to the chain's UK Twitter feed, all of its UK stores will be closed on Monday until 5 p.m.

for The Queen's funeral. In the United Kingdom, there are approximately 1,200 McDonald's outlets.

"All of our UK restaurants will be closed on Monday until 5pm, to allow everyone at McDonald's to pay their respects to Her Majesty Queen

Elizabeth II," the post states. After 5 p.m., operating hours and services may change, so please check our app before traveling."

McDonald's is far from the only major brand closing locations in the United Kingdom for the occasion. Several restaurant brands and stores,

including Primark, Harrods, Asda, Marks and Spencer, Greggs, John Lewis, and Pizza Express, will be closed or operating on a restricted schedule.

Because Monday is also the final day of national mourning in the United Kingdom, London's financial markets and banks will be closed.

Since all 3 of our design inspiration leans more minimal, we can gracefully incorporate all styles.
