7 Pizza Chains That Use Fresh, Never-Frozen Dough

Make no mistake: only your favorite pizza will do when you're craving it. Domino's, Pizza Hut, and Papa John's serve plain and pepperoni pizzas.

Some chains shape and stretch fresh dough in-house, while frozen pre-formed dough can create a trademark consistency. Several regional and

national pizza companies use fresh, never-frozen dough, including some unexpected ones.

Grimaldi's initial New York site was under the Brooklyn Bridge. Since then, the company has grown to 11 states: Alabama, Arizona, Florida,

Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Nevada, South Carolina, Texas, and Wisconsin. The chain's success has come from its fresh dough baked daily with

its'secret formula' that employs New York-style water to create its trademark thick crust everywhere.

This pizza restaurant opened in Palo Alto, California, and now has over 250 stores in California, Utah, Oregon, Nevada, Idaho, and Arizona. In

addition to cheese and pepperoni, Mountain Mike's Pizza makes The Everest, Pikes Peak, Robbers Roost, and Garlic Tuscan with fresh dough prepared daily in-store.

Jet's Pizza is one of the few pizza chains that offers deep-dish. The chain mills its own flour blend to make two varieties of dough daily.
