Trevon Diggs on injury: 'It's God's Plan. I'll be back!'

The Dallas Cowboys will miss Trevon Diggs, who tore his left ACL in Thursday's practice.

No NFL CB has more interceptions than Diggs (18) since 2020. Since Dan Quinn became defensive coordinator in 2021,

the Cowboys have played the most man coverage in the NFL, and Diggs has 15 interceptions and 38 passes defended.

NFL Next Gen Stats shows he has allowed three receptions on eight targets for 31 yards in two games.

However, this team lost quarterback Dak Prescott in last year's season opening against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and won four of five games

with Cooper Rush. A ruptured hamstring sidelined Pro Bowl left tackle Tyron Smith for the first 13 games last season, yet the squad still won 10 games.

Stephon Gilmore, DaRon Bland, Jourdan Lewis, and the Cowboys' cornerbacks must continue to smother opposing offenses with 10 points

On Tuesday, Gilmore turned 33, making the Cowboys' March acquisition of him from the Indianapolis Colts even more relevant.

“He's probably the smartest DB, once again, that I've ever lined up against,” wide receiver CeeDee Lamb said.
