Chipotle Is Finally Bringing Back Everyone's Favorite Steak

Chipotle is known for its customizable menu, and now customers may add another protein. The fast-casual Mexican company will serve Carne Asada for a limited period starting today.

The returning steak is marinated and grilled with cumin, coriander, and oregano in the U.S. and Canada. Freshly squeezed lime and hand-chopped cilantro complete it. 

The company estimates that over 10 million individuals purchased the dish following its inception, with roughly half being first-time visitors, in a press release.

Chipotle's "most requested menu items on social media," the protein, returning in 2020.

Chipotle's customized quesadilla and Fajita Quesadilla provide the Carne Asada for individuals who want to try something new. Both include Monterey Jack cheese, black beans, cilantro lime rice, and sour cream.

"Over the past few years, our fans' passion for Carne Asada has rivaled any other Chipotle menu item," stated Chipotle's chief brand officer.

"Now, we've answered the call, brought back this iconic protein, and introduced a new way to try Carne Asada with the Quesadilla."

Customers may order fajita vegetables to make this quesadilla a Fajita Quesadilla. After the TikTok ingredient combo went viral, Chipotle introduced the Fajita Quesadilla in March.

Quesadillas and Fajitas may only be ordered through the Chipotle app, website, or third-party delivery services.

Chipotle is giving free delivery on all Carne Asada app and website orders from Sept. 14 to Oct. 1, 2023, to celebrate the steak's return.
