Nestlé Is Recalling Its 'Break And Bake' Cookie Dough

Warm chocolate chip cookies from the oven are the ultimate dessert. Unfortunately, Nestlé Toll House chocolate chip cookie dough "break and bake" cookies are recalled.

The brand's website announced a voluntary recall of batch numbers 311457531K and 311557534K with best-by dates of 8/22/23 and 10/23/23 on August.

The food firm suspects wood chip contamination happened during an April 24 and 25 manufacturing cycle. It seems the incidence is isolated.

The business initiated the recall out of caution after a few buyers reported the problem. The corporation is collaborating with the FDA.

Nestlé said on its website that the voluntary recall does not involve "other Nestlé Toll House products, including other varieties of refrigerated cookie dough in 'break and bake' bars, rolls, or tubs, or edible cookie dough."

The FDA oversees some food items to guarantee customer trust. Apart from USDA problems, the FDA ensures goods are "safe, wholesome, sanitary and properly labeled."

The FDA recalled eight foods from August 1 to 14, including Doritos Nacho Cheese Tortilla Chips with undisclosed soy and allergy information and Soft Serve on the Go ice cream and sorbet cups with Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Undeclared allergens received the highest recall notifications from 2017 to 2020, according to The Food Industry Association.

The COVID-19 pandemic led to fewer food recalls, although the explanation is unknown. Most customers think corporations are labeling, manufacturing, and producing more carefully, yet things may go wrong.

Under FDA monitoring, corporations respond quickly to issues, so customers may trust their food purchases.
