Taco Bell Is Coming for McDonald's—Starting With a Big Menu

Yum! Brands, Taco Bell's parent company, recently announced that French fries may soon be a mainstay.

The creators of Doritos Locos Taco and Crunchwrap Supreme are considering making fries a full-time menu option to compete with McDonald's.

The chain's fries are beloved, but they've only been on the menu seldom. Although they are scarce, they have become Taco Bell's most popular

item, selling over 53 million orders in the first five weeks following debut, surpassing Doritos Locos Tacos. We're shocked the chain waited so long to provide them 24/7.

Taco Bell CEO Mark King said, "We're looking at bringing fries permanently to the menu," during an investor presentation on Dec. 13.

An innovation on the Mexican-focused cuisine, Nacho Fries debuted in 2018. These fries are seasoned with a specific

blend of spices and come with a distinctive nacho cheese dipping sauce, setting them apart from conventional fast-food fries.

Taco Bell apparently believes scarcity is important to the success of their famous spuds. Other fan ideas include Taco Bell outlets not having

adequate freezer room to keep the spuds year-round. The chain believes having fries on the menu will boost lunch, dinner, and fourth-meal sales
