Pepsi Just Launched a New Citrus-Flavored Soda

Out with old, in with new. PepsiCo is using that strategy to improve its lemon-lime soda position.

On Jan. 11, the beverage giant released Starry, a caffeine-free, lemon-lime-flavored soda to replace Sierra Mist, at 24 years old.

Starry, offered in original and zero-sugar flavors at shops nationwide, was intended to compete with Sprite.

CNN said that Sierra Mist's soda market share has been declining for at least five years. At the same time, Sprite's share rose to about 8%.

"We are hyper-focused on consumer-centric innovation, and we know there's a strong demand for lemon lime flavored soda with the category
