Potbelly Is Opening 22 New West Coast Locations—Here's Where

Potbelly is expanding to the West Coast, which will be great for its warm, toasted sandwiches like Mama's Meatball.

QSR Magazine reports that Potbelly Corporation inked a deal to expand in Seattle-Tacoma. In conjunction with local franchisee Sound Sandwich

LLC, 22 additional Potbelly eateries will debut. Washington state will add 13 Potbelly outlets in Thurston, King, and Pierce counties during

the next eight years. The fast-food chain, known for its sandwiches and cookies, is expanding nationwide as part of a long-term strategy.

"We're thrilled to bring the Potbelly experience to more Seattle-Tacoma residents," said Potbelly president and CEO Bob Wright. "This well-

performing market is underpenetrated. We see great whitespace for our brand and look forward to helping our franchisee develop new stores."

The restaurant is noted for its creative décor, laid-back ambiance, and high-quality ingredients like all-white meat chicken devoid of artificial

colors, tastes, and preservatives in its sammies. Peter Hastings and his wife began selling sandwiches at their Lincoln Park antique shop in

1977. Bryant Keil, a regular, bought the business and grew it to 250 locations over 12 years. Potbelly expanded to Washington D.C. and went public in 2013.
