After a prominent chain abruptly closed multiple locations this month, New Yorkers in various counties have one less pizza option.
Local media claims that Pizza Hut has closed at least seven shops in Herkimer, Fulton, and Montgomery counties in the past two weeks.
"While we can confirm these particular locations have closed, the Pizza Hut brand is experiencing growth, including in New York, and remains
committed to providing outstanding service and products to our valued customers across the country," read the release.
The Pizza Hut website does not include these locations. Google searches identify Amsterdam, Cobleskill, Ballston Spa, and Monticello
as "permanently closed." The Daily Gazette claimed that the Amsterdam Pizza Hut likewise has a "Closed 4 Good" sign on its door.
Other large food companies have abruptly closed multiple stores, including Pizza Hut. Lidl closed 11 stores in the Carolinas, Virginia, New Jersey, Maryland
To Winsight Grocery Business, the firm said they took a "strategic decision" to remove numerous underperforming stores
